China: short selling allowed again - Media report

Reuters is reporting that short-selling is allowed once again in China according to official China media.

Reuters notes: "35 brokerages have resumed short-selling business after a long hiatus, official state media reported on Thursday."

Following the news, the Shanghai Composite is trading heavy, currently losing more than 1%.

Iron ore futures on free-fall, sharpest decline since Nov

iron ore futures are trading down by 5.4%, which is the biggest fall since November last year. The sell-off, also seen in other base metals such as copper, is weighing on the Australian Dollar, which continues to be offered outright ever since the beginning of trade in Asia.
