US stocks may open higher on earnings
FXStreet (Mumbai) - The US stocks are likely to open on a positive note after having posted sharp losses in the previous session. The major index futures are trading modestly higher.
At the time of writing, the DJIA futures traded 0.12% higher at 17,398.00 levels, while the S&P futures traded 0.28% higher at 2036.15 levels. Meanwhile, NASDAQ and Russell futures were up 1.03% and 0.28% at 4220.80 and 1198.60 levels respectively. The VIX futures trade unchanged at 17.83 levels.
Positive reaction to earnings
The stock markets may open higher as a reaction to the latest batch of positive earnings. Yahoo, Boeing, AT&T, and Electronic Arts are likely to see early strength after reporting their quarterly results.
However, the buying interest may remain capped due to caution ahead of the Federal Reserve's monetary policy announcement.
