NZD/USD drops below 0.7700
FXStreet (Córdoba) - NZD/USD wavered in the minutes that followed the Fed statement and then dropped below 0.7700 as the greenback strengthened across the board.
NZD/USD retested daily highs at the 0.7790 zone only to fall more than 100 pips to a fresh low of 0.7685 after Yellen said market should wait “at least a couple of meetings” before the central bank normalizes the monetary policy.
At time of writing, NZD/USD is trading at 0.7695, recording a 1.05% loss on the day. Immediate support is seen at 0.7660 (Dec 10 low), while the 0.7800 area might offer resistance on the upside.
